OPERATING HOURS
Small World is open year-round from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday, excluding DOE closures and select professional development days.
TODDLERS
Small World’s toddler program is fee-based with Two classrooms (24 seats) serving children born in 2020, from 8am-6pm, year-round. 50% of the seats are allocated for private tuition families and 50% of the toddler seats are reserved for affordable child care families.
FEES
Small World’s affordable toddler program is fee-based with a sliding scale fee schedule for qualifying families, including select FREE seats subsidized by NYCDOE. UNIVERSAL 3K and PreK
Five DOE-funded Universal 3K classrooms (75 slots) serve children born in 2019.
Two DOE-funded Universal PreK classrooms (36 slots) ready children born in 2018 for kindergarten.
U3K and UPK’s School Day and School Year are 8:30am-2:50pm, September – June.
Affordable Extended Day/Extended Year operates from 2:50-6pm and during July and August.
FEES
Small World’s toddler program is fee-based. A sliding scale fee schedule is available for qualifying families.
Fee-based extended day/extended year is also available. Partial subsidy is available for qualifying families. Review our Fee Schedule. TBD
TO ENROLL:
Families must apply for Universal 3K and Universal PreK through NYC MySchools. The portal opens in MONTH for U3K, and MONTH for UPreK.

Select Small World as your provider.
Select Extended Day/Extended Year ONLY if your family qualifies for full subsidy. Speak with Director Staci White to determine if your family is eligible.

St. Nicks Alliance operates 22 dynamic, fun-filled afterschool centers for children ages 5-13 in close partnership with public schools and NYCHA. SNA’s School Success Model is the backbone of afterschool, with a focus on literacy, arts, socio-emotional learning, health and wellness.

Afterschool is FREE to all.

St. Nicks Alliance provides housing and social services to people living with AIDS, former homeless families/individuals living with mental illness, substance abuse. A transformational team provides a supportive, caring and outcomes-focused approach to help clients overcome challenges and prepare to live independent and healthy lives.

Since launch of services in 1992, under contract with NYC Human Resources Administration, our client success has been rooted in an approach to help stabilize the lives of individuals; many of whom were on the brink of homelessness due to inability in managing mental health and chronic illness. Once stabilization is achieved, clients are encouraged to continue a pro-active healthy lifestyle with access to multiple health care services. The overwhelming majority of clients achieve this level of success. In family care, the entire household is served to improve the quality of life for all family members, for sustainable transformation.

COMMUNITY PRESERVATION
St. Nicks Alliance is dedicated to empowering community residents through Homelessness Prevention and Resident Education services. Each year, hundreds of residents learn of housing rights, sustainable practices and first-time homebuyer opportunities, along with partnering with neighbors and other groups to collectively fight against corrupt landlords and opaque policies. The focus is on addressing the array of housing challenges in NYC, to develop housing stability, safety, and opportunities towards foundational success and stronger futures.

HOUSING COUNSELING
Residents in private residences experiencing problems with their landlords can speak with a housing counselor for: Individual counseling, 311 support, anti-eviction services, rent overcharge assistance, legal referrals, and housing application services.

HOUSING ORGANIZING
Community organizing for improved housing is an important facet of St. Nicks Alliance work in the community. Supporting the rights of low and moderate income people to live in affordable, habitable housing, receive high quality education, and access to living wages are mission driven goals.
Community members come together to collectively learn and build capacity through: group trainings, understanding tenant rights trainings, tenant association and cooperative formations and local and statewide housing policy campaigns.
