St. Nicks Alliance Workforce Development Center at 92 Throop Avenue, Brooklyn, helps job seekers, ages 18+ and those ready for career advancement, overcome barriers to education, employment, and training with the skills needed to secure a high-wage job to support their families.

Coaching, tools and resources, industry-recognized certification, career internships, job placement assistance and alumni network at your disposal. St. Nicks Alliance’s industry and employer network informs training and provides internship and employment opportunities. All at no cost to you!

Weekly Information Sessions: We welcome you to join us for our weekly in-person information session to learn more about our free training and offerings. All information sessions are held at St. Nicks Alliance Workforce Center at 92 Throop Avenue, Brooklyn NY 11206 at 1 p.m.

  • Tech Training info sessions are on Tuesdays
  • Skills Training Info Sessions (construction, green trades, HVAC, environmental remediation) are on Wednesdays
  • Job Club info sessions are on 2nd & last Thursdays
  • Financial Training info sessions are on 2nd & last Thursdays
  • Health Care info sessions are on Fridays

Adult Education

Secure your High School Equivalency (GED) or learn English as a Second Language (ESOL) at our Workforce Development Center.

High School Equivalency (GED) in English and Spanish

  • Daytime classes from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Evening classes from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Saturday classes from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

English as a Second Language (ESOL)

  • Daytime classes from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Evening classes from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Saturday classes from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Career Services

Your Social Security card and photo ID are required to attend the in-person information sessions.

First Job (Job Placement Assistance)

We help with job placement assistance with local employers.

  • Learn more at an in-person information session held on the 2nd & last Thursdays at 1:00 p.m.

Eligibility:

must be vaccinated, have proof of identification and a Social Security Card, and bring your resume.

Financial Services Training (8 Weeks)

  • in-person information sessions held 2nd & last Thursdays at 1:00 p.m.

Eligibility:

must be bilingual, have a high school diploma, and at least 6 months of hospitality, customer service, retail, or cash handling experience.

Skills Training

Training that offers the skills, credentials, and certifications needed to secure a high-wage job in growing industries. 

Trainings are for two age ranges: Adult (18+) or Young Adult (18–24)

ADULT

Environmental Remediation (7 Weeks)

  • in-person information sessions held Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m.
  • receive: 30-hour OSHA, Confined Space, Asbestos Handling, and 40-hour HAZWOPER certifications

Construction — Skilled Build (7 Weeks)

  • in-person information sessions held Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m.
  • receive: 30 Hr. OSHA, Flagger, Scaffolding, and F-60 Fire Guard, Solar One Green Construction Certificate, and 10-hour Site Safety Certificate

HVAC & Building Maintenance (7 Weeks)

  • in-person information sessions held Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m.
  • receive: OSHA-30, 10-Hour Site Safety, Building Operations & Maintenance, GPRO Mechanical Certification, EPA 608 Certification, Fireguard F-60, Fireguard G-6

YOUNG ADULT

Workplace Success Skills Workshop (5 Weeks)

  • must be 18-24 years of age
  • in-person information sessions held Mondays at 1:00 PM

Green Trades (5 Weeks)

  • must be 18-24 years of age
  • in-person information sessions held Wednesdays at 1:00 PM
  • environmental remediation, HVAC, construction

Healthcare

  • must be 18-24 years of age
  • in-person information sessions held Fridays at 1:00 p.m.
  • receive: Patient Care Technician (PCT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and Home Health Aide (HHA) certifications

Tech Training (6 Weeks)

  • must be 18-24 years of age
  • in-person information sessions held Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m.
  • receive:  Microsoft Office, data analytics, IT help desk support, and Google certifications

Eligibility

must be vaccinated,  have proof of identification, Social Security card, and a resume.
