Small World Early Childhood Center helps children develop the skills and dispositions to be successful life-long learners. The curriculum is aligned with the New York State Preschool Foundation for the Common Core and is play-based with an eclectic mix of the creative and the emergent curricula. It stresses creativity, sensory experiences, daily routines, and language development.
Small World Early Childhood Center
Small World Early Childhood Center was created by community leaders who formed the Conselyea Street Block Association (CSBA) in 1974 with the purpose of providing child care in the context of a community center.
In 2013, the CSBA Board merged with St. Nicks Alliance to purchase 211 Ainslie Street for the purpose of strengthening activities and ensuring the space will remain a vital community center.
Free Universal 2K, 3K, & 4K
Small World provides 2-, 3-, and 4-year-olds with free 10-month UPK. Our 2K, 3K, and 4K provide rich, varied learning explorations and social interactions. Students obtain essential school readiness skills which support their success in kindergarten and the upper grades.
Affordable Extended Day
Small World children attending the school day have the option to stay for extended day, which provides engaging educational learning after UPK time ends. Extended Day is available on a sliding scale for qualifying families and processed through the NYC Department of Education.
